New ISU president says organization will follow decision to withdraw Russia

The new president of the International Skating Union (ISU), Jae Yel Kim, said the organization would respect the decision of the organization’s board of directors to withdraw Russia and Belarus due to the conflict in Ukraine. He told reporters about it.

In the spring of this year, the ISU Council decided to withdraw Russian and Belarusian athletes from events under its auspices. This decision is linked to the crisis in Ukraine. Later, the ISU congress, which ended Friday in Phuket, backed the council’s decision.
