Figure skater Alexandra Trousova did not make a single shovel when performing the long jump, although professional athletes have been studying it for many years, said Evgeny Ter-Avanesov, Honored Coach of Russia.
On June 9, Trusova competed in the junior long jump (U20) during Moscow Athletics Week. The figure skater made three test attempts and took last place with a score of 4.10 meters.
– As for Sasha, it was a new experience, and for me, because in 20 minutes I had to help her master what athletes have been learning for 10-15 years. Well, we have something. At least Sasha didn’t make a single shovel, and that’s a lot – jumpers have learned this for many years. She’s a great athlete, she has a sense of rhythm, which worked in her favour. I helped her take a run, and it turned out to be a jump of 4.19m, which is good enough for the first time,” Ter-Avanesov said as quoted by RT.
Trusova, who turns 18 on June 23, was the first in history to be able to perform five quadruple jumps in a free skate at the 2022 Olympics without falling. He won the silver of the Games.
