“I saw that Russia could lose such a star” – coach Shishin on returning to work with Rylov

Honored Russia coach Andrey Shishin explained why he decided to return to work with a two-time Olympic champion Yevgeny Rylov .

In August 2022, Shishin and Rylov ended their cooperation by mutual agreement. After that, the swimmer worked with his girlfriend, Oksana Logvinova.

– I really liked it when I let them go and wanted him to work with Oksana. It was such an emotional impulse, the person was interested. Oksana is a young specialist, she learns everything, there were a lot of novelties. The woman was very comfortable with her. I really liked it, but, probably, I let him swim early – this is the first time. Two – the age of the athlete, three – the situation, which, unfortunately, begins to oppress. I saw that we can lose such a star of our country. I realized that we had to find Zhenya again.
