Athletistic/ Others. Three Russian canoeists have been disqualified for doping. Among them was the 2012 Olympic champion Alexander Dyachenko.
The case was examined by the CAS. Dyachenko, along with Nikolai Lipkin and Alexandra Dupik, were found guilty of anti-doping rule violations.
The CAS has upheld WADA’s appeal against the decision of the International Canoe Federation (FIC), informs the CAS press service.
Dyachenko was reportedly banned for four years for using trenbolone and methenolone in 2014. The disqualification period is counted from July 9.
Thus, the athlete’s results from June 5, 2014 to December 31, 2016 are void.
The CAS also suspended canoeist Nikolai Lipkin for four years and Dupik, para-rowing, for two years.
