Tomorrow the national team of Ukraine will play against Armenia
Head coach of the Ukrainian national team Alexander Petrakov spoke about preparations for tomorrow’s match with Armenia in the League of Nations.
The game will be hosted by Polish Lodz, where the national team is forced to play against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“Yes, it was my wish to play in Lodz. The management asked where I want to play, in which city. I said, ‘Let’s play in Lodz,'” Petrakov said.
“Many of our Ukrainians work here. I remember being told that more than 6,000 Ukrainians worked and lived here, so I said it would be better to play in Lodz.”
“10 years since Euro 2012 in Ukraine and Poland? I was at the game with Sweden. There was pride in the country when they won. I remember this game, I didn’t go to matches anymore.”
“Stepanenko has already gone home, Bushchan too. Sable is just starting training after a cold. And Sirota fell ill – he also had a cold. Now there will be a training session, after which we will see how someone looks at tomorrow’s game.
“Victory at the 2019 World Youth Championship in Poland? This past. I’ve turned the page and I’m moving on.”
The match between the national teams of Ukraine and Armenia starts tomorrow at 16:00 Kyiv time.
In June, Petrakov’s team started in the Nations League with a minimal away victory over Ireland – 1:0.
