An unfortunate defeat of the blue-yellows
Ukrainian national ice hockey team played the first match World Cup 2023 V Division IBwhich takes place in Tallinn. Blue-yellows lost in the opening match China — 4:5.
Vadim Shakhraichuk’s team won the first period thanks to Alexei Vorona’s double, but failed the second 20-minute period, conceding four goals.
In the third period, Ukraine managed to bounce back with the efforts of Igor Merezhko and Vorona. The fate of the meeting was decided in overtime – the victory of the Chinese team was brought by Cory Kane’s puck.
In the second round Ukraine will play against Serbia. The match will take place on April 24, starting at 16:00 Kyiv time. Also blue-yellow will play with Japan, Estonia and the Netherlands.
