The Ukrainian national team is still second at the 2023 World Cup
Head coach of the Ukrainian national ice hockey team Vadim Shakhraychuk commented on the victory in the match World Cup 2023 in Division IB against Serbia (7:0).
“Well done for winning today! The match was rather difficult: we had a significant advantage, but we couldn’t score. We “carried” a lot in the corners, in fact, the whole match was in one zone. Then they added, created chances and realized them.
“In the third period, our better physical readiness affected, so we scored 5 more goals. I’m happy with the score, but not quite with the quality of the game. I was counting on a more relaxed course of the fight.”
“The goals have not changed. Our task is to rise in the class. We understand that it is not so easy. To our competitors, the Japanese team, which we cannot win in any way, China was added, to which we lost. If we successfully play the next two matches, then we will have a chance for promotion. We will try to find the strength in ourselves to win such a long-awaited victory.”
