The Blue-and-Yellows came out on top, but Japan played one match less
Ukrainian national ice hockey team crushed Netherlands in the match of the fourth round World Cup 2023 V Division IB.
Vadim Shakhraichuk’s team made a weighty bid for the final victory, scoring four goals in the first period. In the second 20-minute period, the blue-yellows also did not leave the opponent a chance, scoring six times. In the final segment of the game, Ukraine scored four more goals.
As part of the blue-yellow team, Daniil Trakht scored four goals. Ilya Korenchuk and Andrey Deniskin also made a double.
This is the third victory of Ukraine at the 2023 World Cup. Earlier, the team of Vadim Shakhraychuk defeated Serbia (7:0) and beat Estonia (7:4). Also, the Ukrainians lost to China in overtime (4:5).
Ukraine ranks first in the division with ten points. However, the main rival of the blue-yellows – Japan – played one match less.
Shakhraichuk’s team will play the next match on April 29 with Japan. The beginning is at 19:30 Kyiv time.
