The “White Nights” marathon took place as part of SPIEF Sport Week

More than 14,000 people came to the start of the White Nights marathon, which took place in St. Petersburg on the night of June 11-12. The marathon was held as part of SPIEF Sport Week, the sports program of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The race route covered Palace Square, Rostral Columns, Kazan Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, Smolny Cathedral and other sights of the cultural capital.

— The marathon is back in the historic night format as originally planned. White nights come to St. Petersburg, and world events accompany them. But we didn’t just update the start time. We have updated the whole competition approach. The marathon has a new visual identity, the route has been prepared and thought out in more detail. Everything is new, everything is at the highest level,” said Deputy Governor of St. Petersburg Boris Piotrovsky.

Ruslan Khoroshilov (02:16.57) and Marina Kovaleva (02:34.14) became the winners of the White Nights marathon.

This is where the SPIEF 2022 racing program is just beginning.

The first day of the Forum’s business program, June 16, will begin with the SPIEF race. At 6:30 a.m., political and business leaders, sports stars and residents of St. Petersburg will start the 5 km distance near St. Isaac’s Cathedral. For the first time, a corporate ranking will be organized at the SPIEF Run. With the support of G-Drive, special athletes will take the start along with other participants – athletes with intellectual disabilities. And the kilometers of the total distance covered by the SPIEF RUN participants are converted by the fuel brand G-Drive into liters of fuel to refuel the resuscitation vehicles of the Omsk Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital.

You can register for SPIEF RUN in your personal account.
