Goryanka stand up for “fair play”
Shakhtar director of football Dario Srna said that the Donetsk club is considering the option of acquiring the VAR system for the UPL. According to Srna, all matches of the next season should be played with a video replay system.
“I really didn’t like refereeing in Alexandria, I didn’t like it even more in Odessa. Shakhtar has always been for justice, for honest football. If they make a mistake in our direction, we admit it.”
“Today I don’t like how the matches of Dnepr-1 are judged biased. And this is also noted by experts and journalists. Therefore, I ask those responsible for refereeing in Ukraine to pay attention to this, draw conclusions and punish those referees who make gross mistakes. My opinion is that it is necessary to develop young referees, ambitious, hungry, because refereeing today is not at the level it should be.”
“We understand the financial challenges and challenges that competition organizers face. Therefore, Shakhtar is considering the possibility of acquiring the VAR system for the UPL, so that VAR will work on every match of the next season without exception. With an additional VAR, it will be much easier: it will eliminate errors and eliminate outside interference in the work of arbitrators. It is important that all clubs are on an equal footing.”
“We want justice and fight for honesty. Those who are against such an approach do not deserve to be in the elite of Ukrainian football and participate in the Ukrainian championship. Everyone should have the same rules. What is happening now with refereeing reminds me of the arbitrariness of the early 2000s. If Shakhtar win this championship, I promise you, he will do it honestly. If he loses, then only in a fair fight. We do not recognize deceit and we will fight against it.”
“I want to note that the current championship is very interesting, there is a stubborn struggle at the top and bottom of the standings. Unfortunately, one thing is missing – high-quality, impartial refereeing and fair play.
Shakhtar leads the UPL, three points ahead of Dnipro-1 and having played one more game than Dnipro. On May 13, the Pitmen will play against Ingulets.
