Lasitskene said she is ready to participate in the Belarusian open championship in athletics

Olympic high jump champion Maria Lasitskene told reporters that she was ready to participate in the Belarus Open Athletics Championship.

On Monday, Lasitskene took third place in the Athletics Week competition in Luzhniki Moscow. Nadezhda Andryukhina won.

– High jumper Ilya Ivanyuk said the weather beat him down, he tuned in to the rain. What made you fall?

– To be honest, when I arrived at the stadium, I started to warm up, there was a strangely suspicious kind of feeling. I tried to drop everything and do my own thing, but something was wrong today, and it’s obvious. We will settle everything with the coach and, most likely, he will tell me to forget this day and I will do it with pleasure.

If we talk about the weather, then I was determined that at the end of the warm-up the rain would stop and everything would be fine. Worried, of course, the sector, its condition, but the athletes just have to run and not pay attention. That’s what I tried to do today.

When did it become clear that something was going to go wrong today? During the warm-up, at the initial heights or later?

– I was late everywhere, I didn’t have time for anything (laughs). Those are my problems, absolutely. It’s just that according to the sensations of the body today, there was something wrong and wrong, but, I repeat, these are my problems.

How did you spend the week between competitions?

– Trained, read, marketed in the sun. Sometimes I was watching, if I came across, an athletics show on , thank you for such a great picture. Young people are happy, their eyes are burning, that’s what I wanted.

– Maria Lasitskene watched athletics?!

– Only if, just by changing the channel, I joined her on . Everyone said it was so great that our sport was back on the screens. I watched for a few minutes.

– Have you ever seen yourself among the hundred meters runners of the Golden Race?

– I can’t run more than six steps (laughs). So no, I haven’t seen it.

– Where to go?

– June 18, Cheboksary, we return to the Volga. Then Bryansk. We want to play and we will play wherever possible in Russia, except in places that are already very far away. Irkutsk is difficult for my body, unfortunately. And so – almost everything begins.

— Belarus Open Championship?

– The coach always decides who starts to choose. It all depends on his decision, I’m ready.
