Australia won Peru in a play-off match for access to World Cup 2022. The fight took place on a neutral field in Qatari Er Rayyan.

The fate of the meeting and trip to the world championship was decided in a penalty shootout – 5:4 in favor of Australia.
Australia will play in Group D at the 2022 World Cup with France, Denmark and Tunisia. The tournament will be held from November 21 to December 18 in Qatar.
