Tomorrow Ukraine will play against Ireland in the League of Nations
Left back Ukrainian national team Vitaliy Mykolenko commented on the upcoming match against Ireland in the League of Nations. According to him, the blue-and-yellow players are ready for the game and do not feel tired after the matches played. The Everton football player also spoke about the support of Ukraine from his club.
“I thought about these matches, I can say one thing – I can’t put next to such concepts as playing for the Ukrainian national team and fatigue. I came to play for my country, for my family, for the fans who support us at the stadium and in front of the TV.
After scoring a goal, he received congratulations from the second coach of Everton and from Patterson from the Scottish national team. There is no point in talking about Everton now. The support from the club is great. From what I saw on the Internet, the president of the club invited Dynamo to play a friendly match. Thanks to all the countries where we played – we were supported everywhere, all the people together with Ukraine.
Yaremchuk did not say that I score a little for the national team. For me, the most important thing is to help the team. And if I score, I don’t think about some kind of celebration. Emotions are positive because we won the last game. When you win, you recover faster. I can see from the guys that everyone is 100% ready for tomorrow’s game. There is no such thing as someone already on vacation.
I feel very good, but it would be much better if we played in Ukraine. When the war started, I thought a lot about how some small problems used to seem big. But I managed to focus on football, on the team. I realized that not everything is so hard in England and Everton. We need to go on the field and prove that we can win.
Coleman has been a great help to me over the past five months. He is a big man and a big captain. When I first arrived at the location of the club, he wrote me words of support.
My parents are now in Kyiv, everything is fine with them. My friends, my godchildren – they are now in different parts of the country. I always try to keep in touch with them, they are safe, ”said Mikolenko at the pre-match press conference.
Recall that in the match against Armenia, Mikolenko scored his debut goal for the Ukrainian national team.
In June, the Ukrainian national team started in the League of Nations with a minimal away victory over Ireland – 1:0. After that, the blue-yellows beat the Armenians with a score of 3:0. After two matches played, Petrakov’s team is in the lead in their group.
Ukraine will play against Ireland tomorrow, June 14th. The fight will take place in Poland and starts at 21:45 Kyiv time.
