The suspension of international competitions will not force the main skaters of the Russian national team to change sports citizenship, Olympic ice dancing champion Natalya Bestemyanova has told .
This week, the Congress of the International Skating Union (ISU) extended until further notice the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions and rejected the proposal of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) to toughen the rules of change of sport citizenship of skaters.
– I don’t think it will contribute to the change of sports citizenship. Someone has always moved at the end of the season, because we have a large number of athletes. Someone understood that he would never go to the European and World Championships. In this situation, the transition is possible for athletes of the second echelon, it will not affect the first. I don’t think the national team members will rush,” Bestemyanova told .
