Suns lost in playoffs to Denver
Phoenix Suns NBA Head Coach Monty Williams officially left his post.
The decision to fire the coach was made by the new owner of the Suns, Matt Ishbia, immediately after the defeat (2:4) from Denver in the second round of the NBA playoffs. Williams’ contract runs until 2026.
Williams took over Phoenix in 2019. In 2021, he led the team to the playoff finals, where he lost to Milwaukee. Williams was the NBA Coach of the Year in 2022.
The new Suns mentor could be Tyrone Liu, who is currently with the Clippers.
Thank you Monty.
