Russian cyclist Evgeny Tikhonin said that due to the results of the bike weigh-in, he was late for the prologue of the Five Rings of Moscow stage race, which affected the final result.
Tikhonin became second overall in the Five Rings of Moscow, losing eight seconds to Andrei Stepanov. Tikhonin was late for the prologue on the first day of racing.
“I was late because after the weigh-in it turned out that the bike did not reach the minimum allowed rate, something like 100g,” Tikhonin told . – I did not expect it, because that year I played there. While we were solving this problem, the time of my departure passed, I started with a handicap.
– Could you win if not for all this?
– Could. In the end, it just wasn’t enough.
– What’s next in the plans?
– Amateur cross race in the Moscow region. Now I go there for my pleasure. I work with amateurs.
