What can you say about the mood of the new season?
– Battle mood. We already had experience in the pandemic season, when mainly Russian competitions were held, and, I remember, I played only in a few international competitions – in Minsk, The Hague and at the end of the season in the World’s Championships.
In the coming season, the situation with participation in international tournaments is still in question. But our federation has already announced the Russian Grand Prix series. Kudos for trying. I’m glad there’s a division into stages, because when all the best athletes compete on one, and no one on the other, it’s not interesting. Since there will be departures – that’s already good!
– Have you started working on new programs? Do you want to change both or quit The Nutcracker?
– Alexey Nikolaevich (Mishin) thinks. But knowing its trend, maybe we will offer new programs. They started doing the free program with Ilya Averbukh. I love music. For me, images and interesting musical accompaniment are important, which would give room for creativity, – said Kolyada.
Kolyada, 27, is a bronze medalist at the World Championships, a three-time Russian champion and a silver medalist at the 2018 Olympics in team competitions.
