Athletistic/ Figure Skating. 2018 Olympics silver medalist in men’s singles Mikhail Kolyada has admitted he did not watch the Beijing Olympics, which he did not attend due to the coronavirus.
“Until the end of the games, I never had two negative tests for covid. For 40 days I had positive tests, even if I took them in different laboratories, on different equipment, and that didn’t matter. I didn’t watch the Olympics themselves. I couldn’t sit in front of the TV. It’s hard – they’re there, I’m there. I understood that I couldn’t influence the situation, but it’s still a shame,” Kolyada said.
In addition to silver from the Pyeongchang Olympics, Mikhail won the silver medal at the World Team Championship (2017), twice won bronze at the European Championship (2017, 2018), became the World Championship bronze medalist (2018) and won the team championship gold (2021).
