Russian national team gymnast Ivan Kulyak who was disqualified for demonstrating the letter Z on a sports uniform, will participate in Russian competitions, the head coach of the Russian national team told Valentina Rodionenko .
The Gymnastics Ethics Foundation (GEF) Disciplinary Commission suspended Kulyak for a period of one year. The gymnast was suspended from tournament participation for taking part in the parallel bars awards ceremony with the letter Z on his uniform during the World Cup in Doha in March.
– Ivan Kulyak can participate in Russian competitions. He is notably declared for the Russian Cup in Kaluga, he will be efficient. This also applies to the Spartakiad and other Russian competitions. We have told the International Federation that they do not manage our internal calendar and that their sanctions do not apply to our own tournaments. Kulyak will perform,” Rodionenko told .
The Russian Cup in Kaluga will take place from July 4 to 10.
