The Ministry of Youth and Sports explained their position to athletes from aggressor countries.

Ukrainian athletes will not take part in competitions, which will allow athletes from Russia and Belarus. Even the flags of these states are replaced by neutrals. This was stated by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadim Gutsait.

He also invited the presidents of international federations to visit Ukraine to view the activities of the Russians in Irpen, Bucha, Kharkov and Chernigov.

“Russia’s entire war against Ukraine has already claimed the lives of more than 70 Ukrainian athletes and coaches. Representatives of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus are looking for an opportunity to express themselves in the international arena, which speaking under a neutral white flag. This is unacceptable!

Athletes from these countries cannot participate in international competitions either under themselves or under neutral flags, because they secretly agree to the killing of Ukrainians or openly support it.

He suggested that the presidents of all-Ukrainian federations apply to international sports federations to avoid such cases.

In the event that athletes from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus are allowed to participate in competitions, Ukrainian athletes are ready to block their performances and boycott the competitions. The world has no right to forget about the war started by Russia against Ukraine!

He also proposed inviting the presidents of international federations to Ukraine. We will show Irpen and Bucha, Kharkiv and Chernihiv! They should know how Ukrainian athletes feel when they go to the start alongside representatives of aggressor countries, ”Gutzeit wrote.
