– You have three new athletes in your group: former skier Gruhvina and juniors Sheller and Dyuzheva. How to assess their potential?
– Today is a difficult question. First you need to thoroughly study the athlete, find out his limiting factors and try to strengthen them. While it will turn out during the preparation. We will also build on our stage tests, which will take place in Moscow in June.
The first training camp is aimed at restoring working capacity and preparing for further work. We had three days of training, so it’s too early to talk about the world goals of the newly arrived athletes. We still know superficially their weaknesses.

– I think every coach wants to work for the long term and participate in a long-term, not one-time project. It’s interesting to work everywhere and always in your own way. Of course, this requires the interest of the coach and the same feedback from the athlete.
– For the second consecutive year, your group is supplied by a former skier. What do you expect from Anna Grukhvina and how promising is this direction – to get athletes out of cross-country skiing?
“It’s not a new direction. It was the same in previous years. Svetlana Ishmuratova was also invited before the Nagano Olympics and then became a double Olympic champion. It’s a good direction.
