Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Double Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko has spoken of raising the age limit to 17. He thinks it’s the right decision.
According to Plushenko, this initiative “will extend the lives of older athletes”.
“It’s great that the ISU has raised the age limit. Our girls are graduating at 15, but where is the struggle, overcoming? I want to prolong the lives of older athletes,” Plushenko told Match TV.
From the 2023/24 season the age limit will be 16, and from the 2024/25 season it will be 17.
