Colombian cyclist Einer Rubio of the Movistar team has won the 13th stage of the Giro d’Italia.
The length of the stage was shortened from 199 to 74.6 kilometers due to unfavorable weather conditions. Rubio overcame it in 2 hours 16 minutes 21 seconds.
Frenchman Thibaut Pino (Groupama-FDJ) is second, while Ecuadorian Jefferson Cepeda (EF Education-EasyPost) completes the top three.
Earlier, Russian BORA-Hansgrohe cyclist Alexander Vlasov retired from the Giro d’Italia. According to media reports, the athlete tested positive for coronavirus infection.
The 14th stage of the 193 km multi-day race will take place on Saturday 20 May.
