The Ukrainian star will not follow his compatriot in the title fight.
Former three-division champion Vasily Lomachenko will face undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney.
Oleksandr Usyk, WBA, WBO, IBF heavyweight champion, will not be able to attend the fight of his compatriot.
Boxing manager Egis Klimas said that Usyk will not make it to the United States.
“Unfortunately, Usyk will not be at the Lomachenko fight. He just left Ukraine, his wife had a birthday recently. But apart from the birthday, they still deal with the Usyk Foundation. They help people who have lost their homes . in their homeland in Ukraine, countrymen in trouble. They are very brave,” the SecondsOut functionary quoted him as saying.
It will be remembered that the fight between Devin Haney and Vasily Lomachenko will take place on May 20 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
It was previously reported that the Ukrainian edged out the American at the weigh-in ceremony.
