Athlete Claudia Afanasieva won the Russian Walking Championship, which takes place in Saransk.
Afanasyeva covered the distance of 35 kilometers in 2 hours 37 minutes 11 seconds. The athlete bettered the national record she previously set in 2019 (2:38.24). However, it cannot be approved due to the absence of three international judges at the competition.
The second place was taken by Kristina Lyubushkina (2: 51.41), the first three were closed by Daria Golubechkova (2: 57.25).
Sergey Kozhevnikov won the men’s competition with a time of 2 hours 27 minutes 52 seconds. The second was Alexander Garin (2: 29.52), the third – Sergey Sharypov (2: 30.24).
