Real Madrid appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office about racism in the match against Valencia

The main victim is Vinicius Junior

Real turned to Prosecutor General’s Office about racism in the match of the 35th round of La Liga with Valencia (0:1).

The club stated that “such conduct constitutes a hate crime.” The Blancos also intend to achieve a clear and private trial of the case.

In the middle of the second half, there was a pause in the game for several minutes due to insults against Real Madrid winger Vinicius. And in stoppage time, the Brazilian received a red card for punching an opponent in the face.

The player himself said that “previously, La Liga belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi, but now it has been swallowed up by racism.” Vinicius also stressed that he will continue to fight racism in Spain.

In turn, La Liga launched its own investigation and requested all materials from the game between Real and Valencia. In case of identified violations, the organization undertook to take appropriate legal measures.

Real Madrid are in third place in La Liga, one point behind Atlético Madrid. Valencia moved up to 13th position in the standings after beating the Blancos, extending their lead from the relegation zone to five points.
