Pyatov may join the coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team
Ukrainian Football Association plans May 30 make an official presentation of the new head coach of the Ukrainian national team and his headquarters.
The new coach of the national team should be Sergei Rebrov. The manager is expected to say goodbye to his current club Al Ain after the UAE League Cup final on 27 May.
According to VZBIRNA, there is no plan B in the UAF. The date of the introduction of a new coach can be shifted by a maximum of a day.
The source also reports that the coaching staff of Rebrov in the Ukrainian national team may include Andriy Pyatov. The 38-year-old may end his professional career and become a goalkeeping coach for the national team. Rustam Khudzhamov is also applying for this position.
Earlier it was reported that Rebrov’s headquarters will include Vicente Gomez, who will be in charge of tactics, Alberto Bosch (opponent analysis) and Gleb Platov (scouting, analytics).
The Ukrainian national team does not have an official mentor after the departure of Oleksandr Petrakov. Ruslan Rotan, coach of Alexandria and the Ukrainian youth team, was temporarily appointed acting head coach.
Ukraine is fourth in Group C after losing to England. In the next round of qualification for the European Championship 2024, Ukraine will face North Macedonia. The match will take place on June 16. Also in June, the blue-yellows will play with Malta, the match will take place on June 19.
