Charming welterweight Galychanka added an individual prize to her ninth championship and World Championships
Since 2010, the MVP of the handball season has been determined by polling professionals. The rules of the referendum have not changed since its inception: each respondent – coaches and captains of Super League teams and Ukrainian national teams – names the top three players. Three points are awarded for first place, two for second, and one for third. The winner is determined by the total number of points scored.
The winner of the XIV annual referendum to determine the best player of the women’s handball championship of Ukraine was the 25-year-old welterweight from Lviv Galychanka Mariana Markevich.

Note. Three points are awarded for first place, two points for second, and one for third. In case of equality of points, the following is taken into account: a) the number of hits in the top three (At – in the table); b) the number of first places.
- Maryana Markevich has 19 domestic trophies: 9 championship titles + 5 Cups + 5 Ukrainian Super Cups.
- Total in the championships of Ukraine for 10 seasons (2014-2023, all in Galychanka) she played 198 matches (424 goals), in European competitions – 86 goals.
- She made her debut in the national team of Ukraine on March 19, 2021 and played 13 matches, scoring 16 goals. She became one of those who made a significant contribution to the successful qualification of the national team for the finals of the 2023 World Cup.
- Silver in the asset right welterweight Diana Dmitryshyn, approaching the individual title. Four years ago she debuted at number 8, and year after year she goes to the top – 7, 3, 2nd place … 2024 – No. 1?
- The bronze was won by the opening of the season – Spartak Anastasia Parkhomenko. As soon as the clock struck 16 full years, Anastasia burst into the Super League that opened the doors to her like a tornado. There, for an acquaintance, she scored an average of almost 10 goals in each match! The second line in the list of snipers (having played 5 matches less than competitors), the third – among the MVPs. Isn’t it the perfect debut?

- Of the speakers now in our championship, most often in individual years were noted Yana Gotra and Marina Konovalova (7 seasons), equaling record holder Natalya Turkalo (7).
- The current survey mentioned at least once 18 handball players. Debuted among the “best” four performers: Anastasia Parkhomenko, Irina Prokopyak, Karina Zdrila and Elizaveta Koval.
- Most often, the representatives of Galychanka were remembered – 8 players (record!)Karpaty (4) Spartak, KOSFC and Lviv Polytechnic (2 each).
- It is curious that for the first time in the list of the best were mother and daughter. Anastasia Parkhomenko debuted on the 35th line, and her mother and part-time coach, Natalya Parkhomenko, is in the top 5 in the history of referendums.
- Separately, we note two experienced handball players who returned to the strongest holders after a record time. It’s about carpathian Daria Kot, which was last mentioned by respondents 7 years ago.
- An even more impressive break was recorded by the most experienced central defender Valeria Zorya. She again drew attention to herself after 11 (!) years. The debut of the line among the contenders for the MVP of the season took place back in 2010! ..
