Russian athletes won four gold medals in basketball, handball and swimming on the final day of the 9th Russian-Chinese Summer Youth Games in Chongqing.
The men’s and women’s junior basketball teams, the women’s handball team and swimmer Yaroslav Sokolovsky (400 meters individual) won the highest honors.
The money went to the men’s volleyball and women’s football teams, swimmers Andrey Filipets (1500m freestyle), Sofia Dyakova (800m freestyle), Victoria Blinova (400m individual). Second places were also taken by two relay teams (4 × 200 m freestyle for men – Roman Akimov, Roman Kotov, Andrey Filipets, Savely Luzin; and 4 × 200 m for women – Sofia Dyakova, Anastasia Kolpakova, Olga Klimenko, Polina Koryakina).
Anastasia Kuvychko finished third in the 800m freestyle.
