Elina’s first final since returning to the Tour
Elina Svitolina reached the final of the WTA 250 series tournament in Strasbourg. In the 1/2 final match, the Ukrainian tennis player defeated the French Clara Burel.
In the first set, Svitolina gave her opponent three games on her serve and lost 4:6. In the second game, Elina lost 1:4, but managed to turn the tide of the meeting and get a 7:5 victory.
In the decisive set, the Ukrainian won three games on the serve of Burel and got the final victory – 6:3.
In the final, Elina will play against Anna Blinkova. Recall that Svitolina won the tournament in Strasbourg in 2020.
This will be the first final for Svitolina since returning to the Tour and the first since August 2021, when she won the tournament in Chicago. In total, the Ukrainian has 16 WTA titles.
