The Ukrainian remained at the top of the WBC rankings, despite the defeat from Devin Haney
Famous promoter Bob Arum believes that the former world champion in three divisions Vasily Lomachenko not going to end his career after losing to the undisputed lightweight champion Devina Haney.
“I have been a fan of Vasily since the very beginning of my professional career. We’ll see what happens, but he’s definitely going to keep boxing. He remains a huge talent,” said the promoter.
Recall that Lomachenko retained the top spot in the WBC lightweight rankings despite losing to Haney. Shakur Stevenson is on the second position, Ukrainian Denys Berinchyk is on the 16th line.
Lomachenko lost to Haney by unanimous decision – 112:116, 113:115, 113:115. The sports community spoke out about the unfair decision of the judiciary.
After the fight, Egis Klimas, Lomachenko’s manager, sent out letters to the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO asking him to appoint the Ukrainian as the mandatory contender for the lightweight belts held by Haney.
