Athletistic/Figure Skating. Coach Alexander Zhulin of the Moskvich school commented on the statements of the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Roman Teryushkov, which were addressed to him.
In his comments, Zhulin denied accusations that he and Tarasova were business coaches and said he himself coached three Olympic champions and wondered who Teryushkov himself was.
Zhulin did not attach importance to Teryushkov’s words and expressed doubts about his sports experience. Zhulin is sure that if Teryushkov himself was an athlete, he would not condemn Zhulin and Tatyana Tarasova’s desire to see Russian athletes in the Olympics, because that was their life goal. He also added that he and Tarasova expressed their honest opinion and made no compromises.
Zhulin noted that Teryushkov has nothing to do with sports, although he is a deputy. He called him a “pseudo-patriot”, because Teryushkov is far from sports, but pretends to be a patriot. Zhulin thinks the tears of athlete Lasitskene, who showed her pain and disappointment, are significant. He pointed out that Lasitskene was the best in her sporting field and understands that she lost her dream, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a patriot. Zhulin called Teryushkov’s statements meaningless and suggested that he instead support Khimki, who is second to last in the RPL.
- Teryushkov said Russia doesn’t need coaches like Tarasova and Zhulin
