Van Leeuwen: Last game is decisive and we will do our best

In the reporting round, the Lugansk club secured medals in the UPL

Head coach Zari Patrick van Leeuwen commented on the victory over Alexandria in the away match of the 29th round Ukrainian Premier League (2:0).

“We started the game well, we scored two goals at once in the first half. Although we could have converted more of our chances. We tried to slightly change tactics, gave more initiative to the opponent and acted on our own because of the counterattack.

Today we had the 3rd game in 8 days, so this is a good result, because such a calendar is exhausting. The players performed at the level. I’m happy with today’s match. We completed the minimum task.

“We lost a lot of points in the first round of the season, so now we have such a precarious position hanging over us. Also in the second round we lost to Kryvbas and Shakhtar. The last game is decisive and we will do our best.”

Dawn guaranteed itself a place no lower than third in the championship of Ukraine. The team of Patrick van Leeuwen scored the same number of points with Dnipro-1, but is inferior to the opponent in the results of personal meetings.

In the final round of the UPL on June 4, Zorya will play Minay.
