General classification triumphant Giro d’Italia became a Slovenian racer Jumbo-Visma Primoz Roglic.
Roglic’s result was 85:29.02. Second overall was Geraint Thomas (Great Britain, INEOS Grenadiers), 14 seconds behind the leader. Third place went to the Portuguese Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates).
The final, 21st stage of the Giro d’Italia was won by Great Britain representative Mark Cavendish (Astana), for whom this is the last season in his career. Today’s victory was Cavendish’s 162nd in his career and 17th in the Giro stages.
