Athletistic/ Others. Russian grandmaster Sergey Karyakin has said he does not accept the International Chess Federation’s offer to participate in the World Cup.

“I received an invitation from FIDE to participate in the World Cup. It is my favorite tournament. But in the upcoming tournament, I will not be able to represent my country, play under my own flag, and in case of successful performance, I “I won’t hear my country’s anthem. I’m against. My position will not change,” Karjakin wrote on his social media.

Previously, the chess player was on the preliminary list of participants for the World Cup, which will be held from July 29 to August 25.
