Russian athletes submitted 999 samples to the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) from January to May 2023, according to the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF) website.
As noted, 316 samples were taken in-competition, 683 – out-of-competition. Of these, 747 samples are urine samples, 89 are blood samples and 163 are blood passport samples.
The largest number of samples was taken in May (282), the smallest – in March (29). Since the beginning of the year, the most tested athletes are Kristina Lyubushkina, Yuri Chechun, Kirill Frolov, Karina Kostromina, Alexei Kudashkin, Andrey Leiman, Ildar Nadyrov, Maxim Pyanzin, Sergei Sharypov and Anna Vikulova.
At the end of March, it was announced that ARAF’s membership in the World Athletics Association (World Athletics) had been restored after seven and a half years, but the suspension of Russians and Belarusians from international competitions was extended. because of the situation in Ukraine.
