European track cycling champion Alexander Dubchenko said that three consecutive team sprint victories on non-standard tracks and in an unusual composition were precious to him.
Dubchenko, Pavel Yakushevsky, Dmitry Nesterov and Belarusian cyclist Artem Zaytsev won the team sprint at the Saint Petersburg Grand Prix. Without Nesterov, the trio won the Tula Grand Prix and the Moscow Grand Prix.
— You have won the three Grand Prix in the team sprint. Warms the soul?
“It is a great achievement for the whole team. Due to the fact that our team guys (Dubchenko plays for the Tula region and Marathon-Tula) could not participate in all competitions, we rode with a different composition. With Artem Zaitsev, with Pasha Yakushevsky – however, with Pasha we already have a longer relationship. We gave our best – the tracks are not standard, we extracted everything we could. Show results of your training.
– You won’t be able to compete with Artem in the Russian Championship?
– Yes. We have already set a Russian record with him, but it cannot be recognized. We will play with our signature line-up – with Pasha Yakushevsky and Dmitry Nesterov. We hope for the best result and the fastest seconds,” Dubchenko told .
