Athlete Anastasia Shakulo, after winning the 200-meter distance on Sprint Day as part of Moscow Athletics Week, admitted to that the displayed result shocked her.
On Friday, Shakulo won the 200m with a time of 23.14 seconds. The second was Vera Filatova (23.29), the third was Ulyana Bazhenova (23.48).
— Feeling good after the race. I am satisfied with my result, it is faster than last year. I hope to be even faster.
The time displayed is a bit of a shock to me. I improved last year’s competition record already in the semi-finals. I didn’t know I was ready to run like this. What helped? The faith of my coach, my husband and the fans who came to support me.
I ran yesterday, I became the second in the hundred meters. I start two days in a row, it’s normal, I always run like that. Tomorrow I will also run 100 meters at the Znamensky brothers memorial,” Shakulo told .
Athletics Week takes place in Moscow from June 5-10. Within its framework, show races were held with the participation of sports and media stars, a day of high jumps, a day of long and triple jumps, a day of sprinting is underway and a memorial to the Znamensky brothers is planned.
