FINA has confirmed that the issue of World Cup medal redistribution includes awards to Russians due to Lobuzov’s disqualification

The International Swimming Federation (FINA) has confirmed that the agenda item of the organization’s congress on the redistribution of awards includes the medals of the world championships, which are deprived of Russian relay teams with the participation of a disqualified Artem Lobuzov .

On February 11, FINA disqualified Lobuzov for an anti-doping rule violation based on data from the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory (LIMS). All his results of July 27, 2014 will be cancelled, the medals will be withdrawn.

Earlier, FINA confirmed to that world championship medals would be redistributed. Lobuzov is deprived of medals in the short course – the gold of the 2016 World Championships in Windsor, Canada, in the 4 × 200-meter freestyle relay, where, in addition to him, they started Mikhail Dovgalyuk , Mikhail Vekovitchchev , Alexander Krasnykh , Daniil Pasynkov , and a bronze medal at the 2014 World Championships in Doha in the same type of programme. Then in this relay they swam Danila Izotov Alexander Krasnykh, Vyacheslav Andrusenko , Dmitry Ermakov Mikhail Polishchuk.

Vekovishchev and Krasnykh told in April that FINA representatives have yet to contact them regarding the return of the medals.

The gold medal of the 2016 World Cup should go to the American team, the bronze medal of the 2014 World Cup to the South African team.
