The athletes retaliated after their first meeting ended in a very scandalous way. Yang was then defending the title and leading the scorecards, but in the fourth five minutes, he knelt over Sterling’s forehead as his knee touched the canvas.
Aljamain is in a deep knockout and can’t even get up on his own. For this blow, Ian was disqualified, the belt was taken and given to Sterling. And he himself offered revenge, because he did not need such a victory.
And now, at UFC 273, their second fight took place, usually held on an equal footing. Sterling won by split decision, with two jurors 48-47 in favor of Aljamain and one 48-47 in favor of Peter.

This was Sterling’s 21st career victory with three defeats. Yang also suffered a third loss, with 16 wins.
