Sister Dubois: Daniel’s strengths can overcome Oleksandr Usyk’s weaknesses

She expects Daniel to start fighting Usyk from the first round

Caroline Duboissister of mandatory contender for WBA heavyweight belt Daniel Duboisshared her opinion on her brother’s upcoming fight against the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

“This is heavyweight boxing – the realm of breakdowns and knockouts. I think it’s really a 50/50 fight – I’m not just saying that because he’s my brother. I just honestly think it’s a 50-50 fight.

“It would be foolish not to give Daniel a chance. I think Daniel’s strengths can overcome Oleksandr Usyk’s weaknesses.”

“If you look at Anthony Joshua’s technique, I don’t think he is very mobile. He is a very good boxer, but he lacks the ability to combine his punches very well and go all the way.”

“We all said to ourselves, ‘If Anthony Joshua just runs to him, makes this a six-round fight, he will have a great chance,’ and he couldn’t do it. But I think Daniel has the best opportunity to do it.”

“He is younger, he is fresher, he has more energy. And I don’t think he’s as big and muscular as AJ, so he probably won’t run out of steam as much. And if he does it in six, seven, 10 rounds, then I don’t see how Usyk can stop it.”

Earlier, promoter Frank Warren said that Dubois would knock out the Ukrainian. Usyk’s promoter Oleksandr Krasyuk responded that he hoped the Briton would not pull out of the fight at the last minute.

Usyk’s duel with Dubois is planned to be held on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland. Initially, the fight was scheduled for August 12, but it was postponed to the Independence Day of Ukraine. Usyk plans to invite the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to a duel with the British.
