Blue-yellows took first place in the standings
Ukrainian women’s volleyball team lost to France in the final group stage match Golden Euroleague-2023.
The current champions of the tournament beat the Ukrainians in the first set (25:18), after which the blue-yellows equalized the score on the scoreboard, the Ukrainian team won the second game (25:21). In the third set, the French again took the lead in the match (25:16). The French team did not miss its chance and in the fourth set put the squeeze on the Ukrainians (25:21).
In the first match of the group stage, Ivan Petkov’s team was able to beat Hungary in Budapest – 3:1. With an identical score, the Ukrainian team beat Hungary again in the second round – 3:1. The blue-yellows continued their winning streak in the third round, the Ukrainians defeated France – 3:1.
The Ukrainian national team reached the Final Four in the Golden Euroleague 2023 in volleyball. The Blue-Yellows took first place in the Group C standings with 9 points.
In the semi-finals, Ukraine will meet with the Czech Republic, the strongest team in Group B. Belgium and Sweden will compete for the second ticket to the final. The semi-finals will consist of two matches. Ukraine and the Czech Republic will hold their meetings on June 24-25 and 28.
