Vladimir Stankevich in the men’s sword got a bronze medal
Ukrainian fencers won two medals on Tuesday at European Games 2023.
Olga Harlan became the champion in individual saber competitions. The Ukrainian confidently passed Nisanur Erbil from Turkey (15:10), after which she defeated Bulgarian Yoana Ilieva (15:13), as well as Italians Rossella Gregorio (15:13) and Eloise Passaro (15:12). In the final, Olga defeated Ilinka Pantis from Romania (15:3).
Bronze medal blue-yellow brought Vladimir Stankevich in fencing with swords. The Ukrainian won four fights, after which he lost to the Portuguese Miguel Frazau in the semifinals. Vladimir was losing in the course of the fight, managed to level the score, but missed the decisive shot (14:15).
For Ukraine, this is the third medal in fencing. Earlier, the gold of the European Games-2023 was won by the epee fencer Joan Feibi Bezhura.
