Javelin thrower Felfner: This year I have become much stronger

Ukrainian became the bronze medalist of the European Games-2023

Ukrainian javelin thrower Arthur Felfner commented on his performance at the European Games 2023, where the athlete took third place.

“Of course, not the strongest guys. But three of them are at least very strong and play in the finals of the European and World Championships. I won one of them – it’s very nice, because I’ve wanted to do it for a long time. But that’s not all I want.”

“Before the competition, he fell ill with a sore throat, he was riding in a bus with a temperature, he also came and was sick. I didn’t know what to expect from myself. But I knew I could fight.”

“Before that, I was a world leader. Now I will have competitions – the Diamond League on the 30th in Lausanne. And there I will still try to make those meters that I count on. Because now a week without training is too much for me. I already forgot how to run after the run, and only in the third attempt did I start doing what I can, and I remembered those moments that I had gained in training.

“Now the Diamond League, then we will be at the U-23 European Championship. We will try to win there, this is our goal with the coach. And then, of course, we will prepare for the World Championships in Budapest. I would like to get to the final. This year I have become much stronger. Now we are still catching up the speed and tightening the technical moments. And, in principle, yes – I think I’m ready to do it.

Arthur Felfner became the bronze medalist of the European Games 2023 in the javelin throw. His figure was 82.24 meters.

The Ukrainian national team won 34 medals at the current competitions. Among them – 17 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze awards.
