Sagan, three-time world cycling champion, sentenced to three months suspended prison sentence – media

Slovak cyclist Pierre Sagan sentenced to a three-month suspended prison sentence for drunk driving on a scooter in Monaco, reports Monaco-Matin.

According to the source, on May 12, police drew attention to Sagan, who was trying to park a scooter. Law enforcement arrested a 33-year-old Slovak man and a medical examination revealed a high blood alcohol level.

As the fine would have had little impact on the defendant’s income, the judge sentenced Sagan to a three-month suspended prison sentence.

Sagan is a three-time group race world champion (2015, 2016, 2017) and has also won the Tour de France sprint race seven times.
