Gachinsky explained the increased competition in men’s singles in Russia

Coach Artur Gachinsky said men’s singles competition in Russia has increased due to all skaters competing in the same competitions.

– It is noteworthy that high competition appeared in Russian men’s single skating. All the leaders of our team take part in the same competitions. It’s just that we didn’t have such tournaments before, when there were international departures. There were no competitions when, say, the whole “tower” of figure skating in Russia was in one tournament. Each of them was divided into stages of the Grand Prix, and we could observe the competition only at the Russian Championship, when all the athletes converge in one start.

And now there are no international competitions for us, and all the athletes compete with us, they cannot be beaten. As a result, each start was very interesting, because there were the best of our athletes, Gachinsky said at the championship.

Earlier it became known that the Russians will not participate in the Grand Prix stages of the 2023/24 season under the auspices of the International Skating Federation (ISU).
