Athletistic/Figure Skating. Russian skaters, despite the fact that they were not on the list of participants, can still participate in the Grand Prix series in the 2023/24 season. This was stated by the General Director of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR), Alexander Kogan.
In the breakdown of skaters by stage of the Grand Prix, published on Wednesday by the International Skating Union (ISU), Russian athletes were not taken into account.
“The distribution of athletes by Grand Prix stages is based on the ISU ranking. If we receive permission from the ISU, our skaters will be able to compete in the Challengers and score ranking points. This can give them the opportunity to participate in the Grand Prix stages,” said Kogan.
The first stage of the Grand Prix will take place in the United States from October 20 to 22, the second – in Canada from October 27 to 29, the third – in France from November 3 to 5, the fourth – in China from November 10 to 12, the fifth – in Finland from November 17 to 19, the sixth – in Japan from November 24 to 26. The last stage of the Grand Prix will take place in Beijing from December 7 to 10.
