President of the Russian Diving Federation Stanislav Druzhinin said that for the first time he encountered such an attitude towards the Russian championship, when at the local level they could not convey to the viewer information on how to get to the competition.

The Russian Championship ended on Thursday at the new Palace of Water Sports in Yekaterinburg.

– Fantastic competition. By its level, its beauty, its dynamics, its sporting intrigues. At the federal level, the championship literally “thundered”. Live broadcasts on the federal channel , an overwhelming number of interviews and news on federal Internet portals and in the media, the number of news and views on social networks and instant messengers is beyond question. For the capital of the Urals, everything turned out a little different. Here, apparently, they are used to hosting world and European football championships and sometimes, of course, volleyball. Everything else seems unimportant.

This is the first time that we have encountered such an attitude towards the Russian Championship. My colleagues and I thought a lot: were we in a hurry to hand out advances on plans to attract international competitions to Yekaterinburg? Of course, I was satisfied with the new Palais des Sports Nautiques. According to athletes and coaches, it is indeed the most modern in the country. The rest was very carefully voiced by our head coach Svetlana Moiseeva.

Allow me to be more categorical. The Russian championship took place with empty stands. Our athletes did not deserve attention? Not at all, the interest was just fantastic. The spectator did not know how to reach us! At first he could not get a free ticket (!), the electronic system did not allow it for some reason, and if he nevertheless reached the Palace, he could simply be turned away. This is the first time we see such an attitude towards our fans! The question arises: do we want to renew this experience?

At this moment, returning from Yekaterinburg, my colleagues and I thought, what should happen for us to come back here with new tournaments? We hope that our championship has really become a test for the Palace and the city, and that we will see the results of this lesson at the international student games in August,” Druzhinin wrote in his telegram channel .
