The club also hopes that the FBU will reconsider the possibility of participation of Slobozhans in the Super League
Prometheus applied for participation in major league in the 2023/24 season. The club from Slobozhansky announced its decision in an open letter.
“We are pleased to announce that the Prometheus basketball club has been included in the list of participants in the 7 DAYS EuroCup 2023/24, in which our team will take part. Also yesterday, a meeting was held with members of the supervisory board, the president and director of BC Prometheus, at which a decision was made on the participation of the team in the championship of Ukraine in the 2023/24 season.”
“The decision was not easy, but despite the emotions, and for the sake of the development of Ukrainian basketball in this difficult time, we inform you that BC Prometheus is applying for participation in the championship of Ukraine among teams of the Major League in accordance with the competition regulations. Also, we do not give up hope that closer to the beginning of the 2023/2024 season, the FBU executive committee will reconsider the possibility of our club participating in the Super League.”
“We hope that this step will lay a new foundation for friendly and business-like relations between BC Prometheus and the Basketball Federation of Ukraine.”
Earlier, Prometheus stated that he did not plan to take part in the Major League. The FBU, in turn, did not allow the club from Slobozhansky to enter the Super League, since Prometheus missed the previous season.
Prometheus ended the season by reaching the Eurocup semi-finals. Also, Ronen Ginzburg’s wards became the winners of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League.
