“The IOC has always been of the view that it is not for governments to decide which athletes are eligible to compete in various international competitions,” the IOC said.
On June 29, it became known that the Czech government supports the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to ban the participation of Russian athletes and teams in competitions held on the territory of the republic. At the same time, a ban was introduced for Czech athletes and teams to participate in competitions in Russia.
